Connecting Communities C2 Learning Programme

Connecting Communities (C2) is a community development learning programme designed to equip participants with the skills and capabilities for effective community engagement and collaborative working. It uses the powerful medium of narrative to embed learning.
Aimed at people working in service delivery and improvement, C2 is an Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) Programme delivered as a series of interactive workshops and site visits.
C2 is an evidence based programme developed by the Health Complexity Group (HCG) at the Peninsula College of Medicine and Dentistry. Based on community stories of transformational change C2 uses complexity science as the framework to understand enablers and barriers to change and improvement.
Learning Outcomes
- To view the community as a rich resource and prime catalyst for change.
- To co-create enabling conditions which encourage community capacity release and emergent leadership.
- To work more effectively with partner agencies and residents.
- To listen to communities and deliver sustained improvement based on their aspirations
- Using insights from complexity science to understand asset based community development
- To introduce the concept of community led local operation partnership as a model for neighbourhood governance
